Self-Improvement :: Hypnotherapy: the new career in the millennium
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL RECENTLY DESCRIBED HYPNOTHERAPY AS THE NEW CAREER OF THE MILLENNIUM
Can this be the truth?
Mark Shields Investigates.
The Wall Street Journal recently predicted that hypnotherapy and life coaching would be one of the top career choices for the newest millennium.
Can this be true I hear you believe out loud?
It?s true a growing number of of us seem to be buckling within the pressures with the millennium with far greater demands on our some time and our wallets.
As the credit crunch bites and the larger companies shed staff, a growing number of of us start to start up our own small businesses. Its seems we have gone full circle with a growing number of start up businesses commencing trading than in the past.
This coupled with educated, experienced senior staff, determining to change careers far earlier within their lives than previously. Many people are finding they are coming to their career crossroads in their early forties and fifties unlike before in the event it was common for individuals to sort out until their late fifties, early sixties before they retired or tried something different.
So would it be entirely a surprise if you suddenly found your best friend had resigned from his career at the trust company along set up his own behavioral change coaching clinic. Exchanging billion dollar decisions for something far simpler like becoming a clinical hypnotherapist and professional coach helping others through hardship.
Having taken this task several years ago there?s something very rewarding about helping others overcome problems you yourself once faced and effectively overcame. Adding real and meaningful value to others could possibly be far more rewarding than trudging to be effective everyday wishing you're somewhere else.
I now believe you could have what you want in everyday life. You simply need to increase the risk for changes essential to point you within the right direction to go where you need to visit, to achieve what you want to achieve.
If you want something, then go and get it. Enough of those trudges to operate wishing you were somewhere else. Go and get what you would like. Make the alteration. Don?t forget. If you always do everything you?ve always done, you?ll always get that which you?ve always got.
So is learning to be a behavioral change coach for you personally. As a senior manager I began within the arena I was preferred in. Working with other senior managers with various problems and challenges. I have to say I have loved every minute of it and feel more rewarded now with the significance I increase other people?s lives than I have ever felt before.
The Beginning.
My earliest memories of hypnotherapy was watching Alistair Horscroft being interviewed about the TV, speaking about another patient he cured, another challenge he'd overcome, and another miracle he gave the impression to have performed. I remember he looked as amazed as everyone and just stated the power with the mind was incredible and anything was possible, or words fot it effect.
Here would be a man that's incredibly successful; often someone?s last measure and he did actually offer the miracle cure some time and time again. He had his very own TV show to prove it. The Life Guru was featured every week curing all people, from all problems and phobias.
I remember vividly watching the great man that day, and wondering exactly what he meant. Now 5yrs on and regularly using Hypnotherapy within my Channel Islands clinic I know exactly what he meant. I did cheat slightly as I enrolled into the Alistair Horscroft training school to ensure I was trained from the best inside the business.
I have since witnessed smokers stop smoking, alcoholics stop drinking, drug takers stop using, agoraphobics ably going where they haven't been for decades, the depressed and anxious now confident and happy and all this in one session,
What is Hypnosis?
So what is an excellent phenomenon called hypnosis and is also it truly a miracle cure, or shall we be held simply looking for a magical cure to help you us manage the pressures of the millennium.
There is really a lot of myth surrounding hypnotherapy plus a lot of what you read is pure nonsense. The effective use of hypnosis is undoubtedly one from the most effective transformational strategies to rapid behavioral change solutions on the market.
It stands alone the reason is and its wonder to learn hypnotherapy has been used since beginnings of civilization.
There is certainly resurgence in our contemporary world and science is now adding weight as to the we as hypnotherapists have always known. It works, and it works where most other approaches fail.
Hypnosis is often a natural human state, a genuine gift from life itself. We move around in and from hypnotic states everyday. The skilled practitioner can utilize these states for immense benefit for their own reasons and others.
Hypnosis is an art and a science. It has methods and procedures that could be replicated yet it also takes an emphatic and conscious individual to really make it "magical".
Let us start with looking at just what hypnotherapy does along with the mechanics around how it works. To do this we have to understand and acknowledge your head is split into two different parts.
These are The Conscious along with the subconscious. To get this into perspective the conscious mind can cope effectively with six or seven bits of information at any one time whilst the subconscious can cope with millions and millions.
Its easy to assume then, how are you affected then when we overload our conscious mind with to many people things to do and consider. Overload kicks in and we become stressed and confused. When this happens on a regular basis, well, not worth considering is it?
If you imagine that the subconscious is like a filing cabinet wonderful our memories and experiences collected over the years and filed away. Every time, the conscious mind would like to make a decision or focus on something, first it has to check through the files to view what info is already there, who's then bases it?s behavior, messages towards the body, perception and decisions on.
As you can well imagine if we've not updated our files recently we could be making all of our decisions based on outdated info which is no longer relevant to life.
We might experienced an experience many years ago so we are still basing a number of current choices on it much more fact we will no longer are that person as well as the behavior that people are generating is don't in alignment with the way we want to be.
Hypnosis is within essence a bridge directly towards the subconscious mind. Once we've desired outcomes filed inside the memory enhancement banks of the subconscious, our conscious mind will access this updated or new information causing us to behave, think, and feel in alignment with the newest information.
Do you have the main difference that makes the difference.
So is this an option for you. Do you imagine you can make the difference? Do you have the inner confidence to increase the risk for change and live the dream for awhile? In NLP terms do you have what it takes to make difference that makes the main difference?
Since watching Alistair Horscroft on TV I now run my own, personal training academy and increasingly more people are registering with become professional practitioners and making significant career changes.
What I find really interesting is more and more of my students are highly senior professional people who simply want to make the change, start their unique practice, and add some value with people on the same time as creating a good living.
Let?s face it in the event you have spent years utilizing staff or clients you?ll have good solid interpersonal skills, and sound business acumen. The basics of transforming into a successful practitioner.
So returning for the original point. Is life coaching and hypnotherapy the brand new career in the millennium? With stress levels doubling, the best way to off process stress than are unemployed and also the government aggressively recruiting Talking therapists I definitely say maybe it's.
There is definitely the importance and interest in more practitioners. I think Ill let it sit up to you to determine.
