The winning bid for a Mercedes-Benz once raced by legendary driver Juan Manuel Fangio brought in 17.5 million British pounds, a new world record, according to Goodwood. According to AutoWeek, that amount is equivalent to over $29 million. The Telegraph reports the total amount paid for the classic car, when fees are added in, grows to 19.6 million British pounds.

Starting off the month is the Seattle Chamber Music Society Summer Festival. This will be the 26th alma co restaurants, featuring 12 concerts of heavenly music every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening starting at 8 pm. The countdown begins as Day One of Chicago's fantastic summer festival of music, Lollapalooza, starts tomorrow, August 6. It's three days of groovin' under the sun and stars in Grant Park, Chitown is the city.
