My Gluten Free Motto: Be Prepared
Summer has finally arrived also it?s time for some ?fun in the sunshine? cookin?? gluten-free style of course!
I must admit that is one of my favorite times of year to cook, what with every one of the fresh ingredients obtainable in the grocers and farmer's markets. The shelves are packed with fresh fruits and veggies and boy are they calling over to me, "Use Me, Use Me", which naturally I love!
For me, summer season is a more relaxed, creative, and spontaneous time of the year. But spontaneity is best suited if there is somewhat planning ahead of energy - being prepared is a superb thing. You just can't predict when your friends will be dropping by or when they will be calling you over with an impromptu gathering, the type of gathering which requires a spectacular dish in hand, of course. And if you are asked to bring a dish you aren't, being gluten intolerant, it usually is best to "be prepared" and arrive with something that you know it is possible to eat and will please others as well. Here is one of my favorite "quick and straightforward recipes", that is great for any of those unexpected calls, my Gluten-free Pistachio Pasta Salad.
We all know that summer brings with it an abundance of outdoor activities, like camping and field trips for the youngsters, a number of beach or back yard parties for your teens, or maybe a number of picnics as you go along. Whatever the experience, your meals are involved!
We also realize that hotdogs, hamburgers, and potato salad would be the favorite food for the majority of of these activities. They can be easily bagged up and shipped off whenever, to anywhere and everybody will likely be happy, right? Well not quite everybody? these old standbys just aren?t planning to work for your gluten sensitive person.
But don't worry you gluten free people, I have some very nice alternatives that you are able to prepare, bag up and take with them so that you don?t ought to miss out on every one of the fun. And I will bet you, the hotdog and Hamburger Fries & Shake (view site…) eaters is going to be checking out what you have!
Here are a few ideas:
Chicken is obviously a great alternative, whether you bag it up ahead of your energy with all your preferred flavors, or perhaps you take it to grill wherever you have. If you are planning to grill it, here is just a little tip?use it in a baggie with your favorite marinade before you leave home, and after that enjoy the yummy flavors if it's finally grilled up.
This chicken can be diced as much as make a great chicken salad wrap (CLICK HERE), or made into a basic chicken salad sandwich constructed with gluten-free Kinnikinnick bread.
And for some great snackin? side treats, it?s back to the fresh fruits and veggies?the greater the merrier! Slice ?em, dice em?, eat ?em cooked, eat ?em raw, whatever your choice, just load ?em up.
Whatever the adventure for the summer, you need to be prepared with many different great food fixings? and everybody, gluten free you aren't, will eat healthier!
